Early Years Manager Vacancy

Organisation: Early Years department within Oakwood Primary School
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday from 8.30am- 4.30pm

Salary: £18,000 per annum

Oakwood Primary School is a DFE registered independent Islamic faith school catering for 3-11 year olds. Our Early Years department comprises of the Nursery for 3-4 year olds and the Reception class for 4-5 year olds. The Early Years department received a good first OFSTED report in July 2009 and the aim is to take it to an outstanding level for the next inspection.

The Early Years Manager will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the Nursery and Reception, for the quality and standards of good child care and administrative systems within it and for ensuring that the DFE Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage are met and will be responsible to the Head Teacher of Oakwood Primary School.

The ideal candidate would have worked within a nursery or early years environment, ideally as a manager and will have people management skills and be able to work under pressure in a busy environment.

Necessary Experience:

• Minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Early Years and Childcare.

• Minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience in an early years and childcare setting.

• Knowledge and experience relating to Safeguarding Children, Risk Assessment, teaching children with EAL, SEN, Inclusion and all other policies and procedures for Early Years settings.
